আমাদের এই লোকসংস্কৃতির লেখ্যাগার মূলত, ডিজিটাল ছবি, ভিডিও, ও কণ্ঠস্বর রেকর্ডের একটি সংগ্রহশালা হিসেবে আমরা উপস্থাপন করতে উদ্যোগী হয়েছি। লোক সংস্কৃতির এই ধরনের লেখ্যাগার ভারত ও বাংলাদেশে খুব বেশি নেই। আমাদের এই প্রয়াস বিশ্ব জুড়ে লোকসংস্কৃতি প্রেমী মানুষ ও গবেষকদের জ্ঞান পিপাসার কিছুটা তৃপ্তি ঘটাতে পারবে বলে বিশ্বাস করি। বিভিন্ন আঞ্চলিক সংস্কৃতির আকর হিসেবে এই লেখ্যাগার প্রতিষ্ঠিত হবে বলে আমরা বিশ্বাস করি। লোকসংস্কৃতির বিভিন্ন সংরূপ সম্পর্কে বিশ্বের নানা জায়গার লোকসংস্কৃতি চর্চাকারীরা রসদ সংগ্রহ করতে পারবেন এখান থেকে, এই লেখ্যাগার হয়ে উঠবে আঞ্চলিক সংস্কৃতির বিশ্বকোষ। এই প্রয়াস সম্পূর্ণ রূপে স্বেচ্ছামূলক, কোন আর্থিক সহায়তা এখানে নেই, সরকারের কোন উদ্যোগের সুবিধা আমাদের কাছে নেই। আমরা আমাদের সীমিত সাধ্যের মধ্যে এই লেখ্যাগার প্রতিষ্ঠা করার জন্য প্রয়াসী।
বাংলার অসংখ্য লোক সংস্কৃতির সংরূপ কালের গতিতে হারিয়ে গেছে। সংস্কৃতির ইতিহাস অনুসন্ধান করলে দেখবো একাধিক শক্তি রয়েছে এর পিছনে, শহরায়ন, গ্রাম থেকে মানুষের শহরের দিকে যাত্রা, মানুষের বাস্তুহারা হওয়া ইত্যাদি। কিন্তু এসব সত্ত্বেও আমরা দেখব, বিভিন্ন গ্রাম গঞ্জে লোকসংস্কৃতির একটি স্রোত বহমান। নানা রকম ভাবে বিভিন্ন শিল্প মাধ্যমে লোকসংস্কৃতির কিছু সংরূপের পুনরুদ্ধারও হচ্ছে। যেকোনো জাতির ইতিহাসে লোক সংস্কৃতির ধারা একটি সমাজ বিবর্তনের ক্রম কে ধরে রাখে, জাতির জীবনের একটি স্পন্দন সেখানে অনুসন্ধান করা যায়। আমরা নৃতাত্ত্বিক ও জাতিবিদ্যার (Ethnographic) আলোকে এখানে বিষয়গুলো দেখবো, লেখ্যাগার নির্মাণের পাশাপাশি। তাই সংক্ষিপ্ত গবেষণাধর্মী আলোচনা ও সরেজমিনে তথ্য সংগ্রহের বিবরণ এখানে থাকবে। কিন্তু শুধু এটুকুতেই যথার্থ উপস্থাপন হবে না, তাই আমরা বিভিন্ন লোক শিল্পী দের বিবরণ এখানে দেব, তাদের সম্পর্কে বিভিন্ন তথ্য ও তাদের ওয়েব সাইটের তথ্যও এখানে পরিবেশিত হবে।

– প্রত্যন্ত গ্রাম থেকে লোক শিল্পী দের খুজে বের করা
– নানা লোক সংরূপের তথ্যায়ন
– লোক সংস্কৃতির ডিজিটালাইজেশন
– এই সমস্ত সংরূপের স্থিরচিত্র ও চলমান চিত্রাভাষ সংগ্রহ
– সাংস্কৃতিক ভ্রমণ কে উৎসাহিত করা
– একটি লোক মিডিয়া নির্মাণ
– লোক সংস্কৃতি বিষয়ক বই ও লেখালেখি সংগ্রহ ও তার একটি তালিকা প্রস্তুত করা
– লোক চলচ্চিত্রের আয়োজন
– লোক সংস্কৃতি বিষয়ে তথ্য চিত্র নির্মাণ ও তার বিপুল সম্প্রচার লোক মিডিয়ার মাধ্যমে
– লোক সংস্কৃতি বিষয়ে একটি ই ম্যাগাজিন প্রকাশ করা
– একটি প্রকাশনি সংস্থা তৈরি করা ও লোক সংস্কৃতি বিষয়ে গবেষণা কে উৎসাহিত ও প্রকাশ করা
এই মর্মে আমরা প্রথমেই একটি ই জার্নাল প্রকাশ করতে চাই, যেখানে লেখালেখি প্রকাশিত হবে বাংলা ও ইংরেজি দুই ভাষাতেই, এ প্রসঙ্গে দুই বাংলার গবেষক ও শিল্পীদের অকুণ্ঠ সহায়তা আমাদের প্রত্যাশিত।

This folklore archive will mainly be comprised of digital formats such as photographs and audio-visual documentation. I think that the concept of such a digital archive for showcasing the rich heritage of folk culture thereby providing the global audience a chance to have a taste of local art and culture is a rare one, especially in Indian and Bangladeshi context. We are planning to document the folk cultural aspect of India and Bangladesh in a larger whole. Frankly speaking it is not funded by any organization or any policies from the Govt. We are trying to initiate it voluntarily with our own limited resources. It strives to preserve the folklore aspect of both the countries by providing an easy online accessibility and by forming a large body of global audience.
Moreover many genres of folklore have faded away forever with the gradual passage of time by the effect of aggressive urbanization and westernization. Yet there is a continuous flow of living folk tradition intoxicating us with intense local flavor all around us, especially in the village context and to be more precise in the remote village context. Any art is an integral part of the intangible heritage of mankind which needs our channelized attention. When it comes to the ethos of folk culture, especially the folksongs, dance-forms and as well as painting, it becomes equally important as they implicate the weaving of a glorious story down the path of history. Above all, it is our socio-cultural duty to undertake the endeavor for its preservation at first place and continuation at the second place and that too without affecting their nativity. That is why we are trying to focus at the concerned fact from anthropological and ethnographic point of view. But at the same time it is also true that only the process of archiving these local art forms will not be of any direct help for the folk artists at individual level. So we are also planning to promote the folk artists and their various groups through our website to usher a positive change in their living condition and to sustain their livelihood.
